A testimonial from Chris Reynolds, Director of the Irish Coast Guard:
'' An excellent website, giving an informative account of the Banna Rescue
CRBI
 Unit. The (then) recently added
children's section is very well presented showing the safety message to be
 taught to the children through
interaction with the on-line games.
The safety message is clear to the viewers and in particular the banner ....
... 'Ask the Coast Guard - Never assume someone else will' ...
Well done serving the community and stay safe in Search and Rescue''

Banna Rescue is an Inshore Rescue Unit located at Banna Strand Co.Kerry, Ireland.
It is one of the busiest beaches in the country. The unit is operated by local
volunteers who have undergone training under the auspices of the R.N.L.I,
The water safety council of Ireland and the Irish Coast Guard. There are approximately 25 members in the unit comprising of both crew and a management committee.
The coverage area for our boat is Banna and the Tralee Bay. However, we have often responded to callouts beyond here.

Banna Sea Rescue is part of the 999/112 Emergency Service under the Irish Coast Guard in the Republic of Ireland. The service is run with the co-operation of all crew members on a voluntary basis. A fully trained crew is available for callouts
24/7 365 days of the year. All the crew are equipped with pagers which can be
activated by the Valentia Coast Radio Station or at the Boathouse. The D-Class boat patrols our very busy beach and is always ready to answer the call for help from the Marine Emergency Service, General Public, Lifeguards and the Gardai.

Banna Rescue is a C.R.B.I. unit. The Community Rescue  Boats Ireland (C.R.B.I.) are
a nationwide group of independent voluntary rescue boats declared available to the Coast Guard who respond to emergencies in their area of responsibility on a 24/365
basis. Other units include Cahore - Co.Wexford, Tramore - Co.Waterford,
 Bunmahon - Co.Waterford, Bantry - Co.Cork, Derrynane - Co.Kerry, Ballybunion - Co.Kerry,  Kilkee - Co.Clare, Killaloe Ballina Co.Mayo (Shannon Waterway),
Limerick City (Shannon Waterway), Corrib/Mask Co.Galway Lakes.

We are proud of our unit here in Banna as it was the first  of its type to be set up
on the west coast. Many units have followed our example such as Ballybunion, Kilkee etc such that units now stretch from Bantry Bay all the way to Donegal.
